At the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas printer manufacturer 3D Systems has launched the first “consumer” 3D printer that isn’t a kit, nor prohibitively expensive. 3D printers are experiencing huge popularity, more and more brands are trying to conquer the 3D printer market.
Cubify introduces The Cube – a sleek and simple 3D printer.
The printer weighs only 8.5 pounds, but despite its light weight, is capable of printing large objects.
For around $1600 you get this 3D printer at home and you can get started with ideas that were previously only in your head. Through programs such as “On Demand 3D Parts” or Cubifys “Cloud 3D” printing software you can actually print anything you want into a physical product!
Plastic refill cartridges, available in 10 colors, will sell for $50 each.
